10 June 13

Went for a beer at Six Acres. It was finally warm enough to sit on the patio.

08 March 13

What a beautiful day. Too bad I spent most of it indoors, in a warehouse without windows. In the evening I made some killer vegan mac & cheese, and then George's housewarming party happened. We drank beer and spilled beer and played Cards Against Humanity.

Cambie Bridge
Went to Cambie St to buy bras, and decided to go to Whole Foods as well (always a mistake — I spent $43). Wandered around a bit before heading home to cook and read.

October
I made soup and cupcakes. Ventured outside to capture the beautiful light of the golden hour, nearly froze my fingers off.

16 October 12

the Ascot
I had time to kill before my haircut, so I went to the Ascot pub down the block. It was nice inside (used to be a restaurant called Cassis, which I went to with my parents & Jeff several years ago), but the service wasn't the best, and the food was good but overpriced.
I told the hairdresser I wanted a bit of a change, and after failing to talk me into getting bangs, she basically gave me the haircut I had in 2009, only nicer-looking.

01 September 12

rising moon
We spent the day at the outlet mall and I got myself a DKNY dress for $40, a Banana Republic sweater for the same, and a leather purse for $35. Afterwards we went to Downtown Disney again for our dinner at the Cuban restaurant Bongos. It was delicious with a nice view of the lake from the patio, and our waitress was the most adorable person ever. Poor Kenny missed it though, he had a migraine and had to go back to the hotel.

29 August 12

brothers
We spent the day at Hollywood Studios. You can tell how hot it was by the fact that in this photo, all three of my brothers have visible patches of back sweat. However, riding the new and improved Star Tours ride made it all worth it, as well as our dinner at the Brown Derby.
A couple more photos from this day are here.

11 July 12

closed Cordova St
A section of streets was closed for the Gastown Grand Prix (bicycle races). Pretty cool to walk through at rush hour and see a normally busy street completely empty. I felt like sitting and reading outside, so I went to see Jeff at the Mill and sat on the patio and enjoyed a beer with my book.

at the 135 bus stop
It was Jeff's birthday but since he was at work, I bought chocolates for him at Purdy's and brought them over, and hung out and had a beer. Then I waited for the bus home in the rain across from this weird moving sculpture thing.

scenes from a bus
Jeff and I went to The Refinery for dinner. Since I'd only had drinks & flatbread there with Liang, it was still basically new to me and everything was incredible. I highly recommend not only the food, but having the bartender custom-make a drink for you with your choice of liquor. I told him I liked old fashioneds and he made me a glorious concoction involving bourbon, brandy & benedictine, and something sweet and lemony.
