Hockey returned, to the joy of many and the annoyance of many others. I watched with Steph/Jesse/Sarah/etc. and unfortunately the Canucks lost. Oh well.

Cookoff day! It was a small one, thankfully, because the theme was hearty winter foods. I tied with Amanda to win.

Jeff and I went to dinner at Dad & Sharon's. We had some kind of marvelous salmon pasta and a whole bunch of wine, and because we hadn't seen them since before Christmas, we were gifted with a cheese board, a bottle of wine, some homemade chex mix, and $50.

It started snowing while I was making soup, and I had to go out to the garden to gather thyme.

Jeff and I went for breakfast at the Roundel and our timing couldn't have been better — we got the second-to-last table and by the time we left there were at least a dozen people waiting. Afterwards we drove out to Belcarra to take some photos. It was freezing, but we managed about ten minutes at White Pine and another fifteen at Woodhaven Swamp (seen in the above photo). It's always interesting to visit these 'summer' places in the winter, just to see how different it is.

Went to Cambie St to buy bras, and decided to go to Whole Foods as well (always a mistake — I spent $43). Wandered around a bit before heading home to cook and read.
