you can't kill us that easily
I mean, don't get me wrong, I fully expect the Canucks to go down in the second round, 'cause that's how they roll. But they won't do it without a fight. See you at GM Place, Byfuglien.

sometimes lens flare is fun
I almost deleted this picture for being overexposed, but then I figured I could work with it and it turned out pretty interesting. This is a lovely, tree-lined and cobbled section of Bute Street.
I took a few others I liked, you can view them here.

daylight savings time
I like daylight savings time. Nice weather makes me so much more motivated to take pictures.

05 May 10

boooze
...is what probably every Canucks fan wanted after game three on Wednesday. And now I'm off to watch game four, which they will hopefully win out of sheer fury, if nothing else.

04 May 10

storm clouds
A storm passed through Vancouver while I was at work, but had dissipated by the time I headed home. I could see the clouds drifting south as I walked from the bus stop.

the mending of the bike
I had one of those nights where every time you are just about to drift off into sleep, your body jerks you awake. I think I finally passed out for real around 4am, and when I woke up I had a massive headache and was super stuffed up. I stayed home from work and Jeff made me breakfast, and I spent the afternoon mending clothes while he went for a bike ride with Ray. On his journeys he picked up some new gear cables for my bike and installed them so that maybe my chain will stop falling off when I go up hills. I guess that's what you get for riding free trash bike.

02 May 10

tiramisu with crême anglais
Jeff and I went for dinner at CinCin with my parents. DineOut Vancouver always makes you go to restaurants you can't really afford, thinking, 'yay I can just order from the dineout menu' and half the time you end up ordering from the regular menu anyway. Oh well.
We each chose a different dessert - this is a tiramisu with crème anglais. Jeff had the chocolate fondant, Mom had the crème brûlée, and Jimm had the rhubarb tart (which I have to say was probably my favourite, though mine was the prettiest).

Trash can tree. This photo is crap but the yard trimmings bin brings up something I am excited about: municipal compost! Finally!

30 April 10

bus stop trash
I walked home from Renfrew because the bus I got on that clearly said #10 Hastings decided it was actually a #16 and turned right on Renfrew. It was not too bad.
