Jeff and I went on a beautiful but unfortunately short hike in Lighthouse Park, then he had to go to work and I had to come home and prepare my cookoff entry.

Malloreigh graduated from SFU and hosted a celebratory party, obviously. Food, beer & wine, dance party, good times.

Went to North Van to have dinner at Pier 9 with Jeff & Yvonne to celebrate her birthday, then wandered around the pier a bit. We talked to Natalie on Skype & saw the baby (our nephew?!) and then it was super late and we had to bus home.

Went for a beer at Six Acres. It was finally warm enough to sit on the patio.

Met up with Liang in the late afternoon for beer & nachos at the Portside Pub; Jeff joined us for a bit before we left to go meet Mom & Jimm for dinner at the Irish Heather.

Jeff and I ate dinner outside; Steph was kind enough to share this dessert wine with us. Later we watched the Star Trek reboot because I'd never seen it before and it was AMAZING.

Picked up my two rolls of film from the wine trip; always exciting. Getting film developed is like a little gift to yourself.

Met with June after work to discuss possibilities for creating a sleeve around my phoenix tattoo. We had some beers and poutine while sketching out ideas, and then I came home and played records & read.

Wine tour day 3: setting off the smoke alarm in the hotel room cooking bacon, driving the back road to the far side of the lake, dogs, good wine, awful wine, willow trees, parking lot sandwiches, flash rainstorms, high elevations, three full cases of bottles, rushing home to watch Game of Thrones.

Wine tour day 2: homemade (well, hotel room-made) breakfast, lying on the grass at Church & State, feeling fancy at Le Vieux Pin, rendezvousing with Mal, Bronwen, and Lindsay for dinner, taking a beer break, being driven inside due to a rainstorm, all of us sharing old high school photos while drinking wine in the hotel room.

Got ID'd at the liquor store buying gin and sweet vermouth. What kind of minor would be purchasing those? Later I made a marinade for the cookoff the next day, cooked myself some dinner, and settled in for an evening of shopping for new earrings and watching The Twilight Zone.
