Tony and his lady friend Joanne took Jeff and me out for brunch at Jethro's, and I think I was the only one who got lunch food because I couldn't resist the greasy allure of the tuna melt.

We went to my dad's place for Easter dinner, where we ate two kinds of meat and two kinds of cake and I spilled beer all over myself. We had to eat early because Dad had to be at work at eight, and I must say it was a nice change to be eating in the warm dining room with sunlight spilling onto the table (as opposed to Thanksgiving, when it was dark and dreary when we got there at 4:30, let alone when we sat down to eat).
Dad gave Jeff and me a bottle of nice tequila and asked us if we could take Ken and Trav home, so we had a short visit there with Mom and Jimm and Alice as well. Mom loaned me some old photo albums so I could scan a few things, some of which can be viewed here, if you're interested in seeing me as a baby and/or my parents' 80s fashion.

I had the day off work and I did some cleaning, went grocery shopping (in heels! without a jacket! spring, finally!), and made soup. Later Jeff and I went for food & drinks at the Revel Room, where we showed admirable restraint by ordering only two delicious drinks each.

I made stir fry and watched the game. Then Jeff came home and to make me feel less sad, we watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I went to brunch at Malloreigh's with Laryssa and Sarah. I was so excited to eat food and to see Lars that I forgot to take pictures of the food. Mal didn't mind, though - she said her presentation has seen better days.
Later I went shopping for a few things I need for the road trip and then came home to watch the hockey game.

I went to dinner with my parents at Au Petit Chavignol. It was amazing, and as usual, we watched tables who got seated after us finish their meals and leave. I came home full of wine and cheese and ready to pass out.

Alice and Maddie and Steph came over; we ate homemade pizza and watched the hockey game, and then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Imagine our horror when we discover that the special preview of the first scene from the next movie only exists on the blu-ray disc.

I failed to take a photo on this day (my brother Travers' birthday). So, here is a photo of him I took when he was a young, mullet-adorned boy. I think this was around '99... I still remember being mad at myself, even at 14, when I got the photos developed and I had cut off his fingers in the bottom left corner.

Went to Steph's after work to watch the game. She made me pasta dinner and then Tams and Maine and Val came and we drank beers and talked over the commentary, like you do.

I went to yoga for the first time in almost two weeks. muscles. so. tight.

Jeff has been working the late day shift, so I have to fend for myself in the evening times. On this day I made a pasta experiment: spirals with oil, mozzarella, mushrooms, green pepper, tomato, and mint. Turned out pretty good.

In the morning we went to The Roundel for breakfast, and then wandered along Hastings checking out a couple of antique & thrift stores. At the secondhand store Jeff and I bought a new lens for the Pentax and an old Konica, and I got some new sunglasses. Later Madeleine came by to talk about the possibility of me taking photos for her Etsy shop and I did a few sample shots (one of which can be seen above).

Alice came over and we ate homemade mac & cheese and watched the following 90s movies: Clueless, Now and Then, and The Craft.

I had my first paid photoshoot! Chelsea, a friend of Sarah's, was graduating from John Casablancas and wanted me to take photos of her models' hairstyles and the show. It was pretty good and there's a few shots I'm quite happy with, including this one above of Lauren. Afterwards a group of us went to the Revel Room nearby for drinks and laughter and inappropriate comments.

Went to Steph's to watch the hockey game. It was crap. But at least we had pizza and beer.

Another delicious drink: boozy banana milkshake! Jeff made vegan banana ice cream the other day and it turned out overly hard, so he threw it in a blender with some Kahlua and creme de cacao. Magical!

A friend of Jesse's brought him back some pisco from Peru. We made pisco sours and watched Planet Earth.

Saturday, it seems, is quite often my night to stay at home and bake and watch movies Jeff doesn't like. I made rosewater-almond cookies and took pictures of the glorious sunset, and the crows flying to roost in Burnaby.

Jeff and I met up with Ray and his lady Lauren for drinks and food at The Wallflower (I felt a bit guilty about going there because of Kaylie, but Ray can't eat gluten so I'm not going to fault his choice too much). I drank some gin and ate some poutine and we laughed and talked and went home.

Steph came over to eat burgers and watch the hockey game. After dinner Jeff made some peanut sauce thing to put on top of the banana ice cream he made, but it didn't turn out so well.

Jeff and I went to my parents' place for dinner, because Riley was visiting from Victoria! It was so nice to have everyone together. As usual, we ate too much, drank too much, and laughed until we nearly peed ourselves.

Jeff and I had a lazy morning together and when he departed for work in the evening, I opted to stay at home and bake cookies and cake. And drink some beer.
