I went out to Point Grey to visit Liang at her friend's, where she staying in order to look after four adorable foster kittens!

Jeff and I met up for dinner at Brix, a restaurant & wine bar I remembered by its mystical garden appearance and not name so it took a little wandering to find it. It has a lovely courtyard (as seen above) that we sat in as we shared a bottle of wine and ate a bunch of delicious food, and went home a bit poorer and rather tipsy.

Mal hosted a clothes swap, though the only people who showed were ourselves, Ash, and Allie, so it was mostly just the two of us trading femme clothes and the two of them trading butch clothes. Afterwards we sat out in the yard for a bit, having nachos & beer and talking. Ash works as a landscaper, and in the photo above she is collecting lavender flowers off some excess plants she trimmed in someone's yard.

On the way home I was near Tamara's apartment, so I decided to see if she wanted to hang out. We sat in the park with her dog for a bit until some creepy dude decided to come sit down with us and then we went inside to escape. Later she walked with me down to Hastings to catch the bus and on the way I got delicious samosas & pakora from Deserts to eat for dinner while I watched Silver Linings Playbook, which was surprisingly impressive.

Played records, drank gin & tonics, did laundry dyed my hair, made relish, watched The Twilight Zone.

I went outside to garden a bit and I could hear music coming from the PNE amphitheatre, which turned out to be City and Color. I hung out outside for awhile after I finished weeding, and was visited by some of the neighbourhood cats.

Jeff met me after work for a beer and a pretzel at Bitter, and then we went to Calabash for a delicious dinner (and another round of drinks).

More BBQ times: grilled mushrooms & asparagus, chili-cinnamon rubbed sirloin with honey-chili sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and greens from the garden with chickpeas & homemade dressing.

Family dinner for Alice's birthday. I was wearing this hat all weekend because I was so badly in need of a haircut.

Jeff and I went out to Maple Ridge and had dinner at the Billy Miner with Mom & Jimm, and then picked up Maddie & Hayley to go to Alice's birthday party at Josh's. It's always a pretty fine time getting drunk with my sisters.

Why cook when you can barbecue? Chili-lime prawns, coconut rice, and mushrooms stuffed with basil, goat cheese, garlic, & arugula. Watermelon, basil & feta salad.

Managed to forget my bathing suit, towel, AND sunglasses at my dad's the previous day, so I went back to hang out for a bit and go for another swim, because why not? On the way home I picked up the film I'd dropped off, and had a quick dinner of leftover noodles while watching Boardwalk Empire with Steph.

Dad and Sharon were having a barbecue at their new place (a basement suite with some friends of theirs who own the upstairs) which has a pool! Jeff & I arrived early so he could have a swim before leaving for work, and my siblings showed up not too long after. They also unfortunately didn't stay the whole evening, but I had a good time swimming and drinking beer and eating food and talking to people I may not have otherwise.

Ran errands with Jeff and then we drank beer in the backyard with Steph. We made a delicious bbq dinner of marinated ahi tuna & prawns, asparagus, salad, and rice, and once the sun started to set we watched Return of the King.

Borrowed combat boots from Sarah to go out to the Alibi Room with Liz, because none of my own shoes seemed to work the way I wanted. Going out on a Friday night is so strange for me now.

I made a pineapple & quinoa stir-fry and watched the remaining few hours of Senator Wendy Davis's filibuster in Texas. It was both inspiring and appalling: I cried, I cheered, I yelled at the screen, I furrowed my brow in displeasure... it was almost like watching hockey, only the fight was for women's reproductive rights instead of the Cup.
This photo was taken after the Senate had attempted to vote on the issue after the deadline had passed. Thankfully before I went to sleep I saw that they had had to rescind.

Maddie, Kayla (above), and Hayley came over to hang out. Maddie & I made delicious risotto and we went outside and petted the neighbour's plants a bit and then we watched The Two Towers (extended edition, obviously).

After work I bought a new dress and some photo boxes to organize my film prints, and had a quick dinner visiting Jeff at work (where I saw this adorable puppy). Then I spent the rest of the evening sorting and labelling all my film and it was just great.
